SEPSICON 2026 Highlights Advances in Sepsis Care and Clinical Innovation
SRM Medical College Hospital and Research Centre organised SRM SEPSICON 2026, a two-day national academic programme held on March 17 and 18, 2026, in Tamil Nadu. The event focused on improving the diagnosis and treatment of sepsis and brought together doctors, researchers, healthcare professionals and students from across India to share knowledge and develop clinical skills.
The first day of the programme included hands-on workshops that focused on infection control, antimicrobial stewardship and advanced diagnostic techniques. These workshops provided practical training through case studies, laboratory demonstrations and infection control practices, helping participants improve their clinical decision-making skills in real healthcare situations.
Experts at the event highlighted the importance of collaboration between different healthcare fields such as microbiology, clinical medicine and research to improve patient care. They also stressed that sepsis is a serious medical condition that requires early diagnosis and immediate treatment, as delays can increase the risk of death.
Speakers also discussed major challenges in sepsis care, including delayed diagnosis, antimicrobial resistance and complex infections. They emphasised the importance of early detection, evidence-based treatment and teamwork between healthcare departments to improve patient outcomes.
The second day included keynote lectures, expert talks and panel discussions where specialists shared new research, clinical experiences and best practices in sepsis management. One of the key discussions focused on early warning signs of sepsis and life-saving interventions.
Overall, SRM SEPSICON 2026 helped strengthen clinical knowledge, improve early diagnosis, promote responsible use of antibiotics and encourage better coordination between laboratories and clinical teams. The programme aimed to improve patient outcomes and strengthen the healthcare system’s response to sepsis.
